Outdoor security cameras and systems comes with the second number of the IP code. They are protection rating number from 1-8.
1 Rating - Small drips of water will not interfere with the device. When level.
2 Rating - When titled up to any angle of 50 degrees, the device will not suffer from a small flow of water.
3 Rating - When tilted to an angle of 60 degree, water spray will not harm it.
4 Rating - It is protected from all sides against splashing water.
5 Rating - Water directing from a hose will not damage the camera.
6 Rating - Water projected from high pressure systems will not penetrate the device.
7 Rating - Can be submerged in water to a depth of 1 meter.
8 Rating - Can be submerged in water as per manufacturer’s specifications.
The standard IP code for outdoor security system is IP55. It is perfectly affordable and cannot be rated as a low rated device.
